Hello friends and family,
I'm writing to update you on my progress in getting to Cambodia. I am much closer than I was last time I updated (which was way too long ago.) Just in the last couple months things have begun to look much better budget wise.
I'm still in need of around $630 in monthly support in order to be cleared to leave the country. That number is shrinking every day, but I still need wonderful people such as yourself to be willing to commit to a monthly pledge number. Please pray about joining me as a partner. If you are willing to commit or to make a one-time donation (those are still always welcome!) please click the link on the side of my blog. I'm so thankful to those who already do support me and who are waiting and praying patiently with me for the day I will be able to get on that plane and head to Southeast Asia! I'm am really hoping and praying to be able to leave by November of this year. Hannah and Ethan are waiting on "Aunt Jennifer" to come and homeschool them, (as well as play G.I.Joes...well that's Ethan's request anyway.)
God has been doing great things in my life in the waiting period. It would take a whole book to tell you all the things He has quietly (and not so quietly) been doing in my heart, my life, my friends' lives...The past couple of months have been a transition time. I've said goodbye to several really good friends who have moved on the the next stages of their lives (i.e. college.) My church family also said goodbye to a dear loved one, Mrs. Beth Pettit, who went to be with Jesus the first week of August.
I've been making new friends, and forging better relationships with old ones. I'm really thankful for the body of Christ. They never cease to amaze me.
My sister and I have recently been sort of unofficially making Passion City Church our second church home. If you're in the Atlanta area, check it out: www.passioncitychurch.com. Great things are happening there...or rather, God is doing great things there! (As He is throughout His body, but PCC has proved to be a place where He is very welcome and lifted high.)
I also recently read a fantastic book called Little Princes by Conor Grennan. It truly impacted my life in a profound way. If you get the chance, definitely read it! You won't be able to put it down.
I hope you are all doing well, and that God is blessing you richly and abundantly in ways that speak personally to your heart.
Love,
Jennifer
